Cannabis nowadays is known as an effective treatment for many illnesses. However, for many years, it has been negatively publicized because of many people who use it for recreational purposes. Today, both doctors and patients agree that cannabis is very beneficial in minimizing pain and other symptoms.
Nonetheless, not many people know about some amazing information regarding this famous medical weed. For instance, until the year 1883, 75 to 90 percent of the paper in the United States was made with the weed. Furthermore, its seed was the number one selling bird feed in the US in 1937. During the middle to late 1800’s, the most commonly used medications were concentrated resins and cannabis extracts.
It is interesting to know that in 1941, Henry Ford built a car with plastic made from hemp and a bridge in the south of France was built with hemp mixture during the year 500 to 700 A.D. The original Levis jeans were manufactured from hemp. During the year 1942, the United States government encouraged cannabis cultivation to help with the efforts of war, going as far as producing a film named ‘Hemp for Victory.’ Hemp fibers when compressed and heated could create superior building materials compared to wood in terms of quality, cost and strength. These are just some of the few interesting facts about cannabis.
